Anna Home One Month

Anna has been home a little more than a month and we have seen a HUGE change. Not that there was anything wrong when we got home, but she is really starting to feel comfortable in her surroundings. When we first arrived home, she was terrified of our dog. Now she has no problem crawling over to her to pet her. She would not let me walk more than 2 feet away, but now she is okay if I walk into another room for a moment. I keep talking to her and letting her know I'm coming right back. She has also no problem if she leaves me. I guess she feels better crawling away from me rather than me walking away from her. I still cannot take a shower without her screaming, so I get up extra early to do that. She eats great and is learning how to slow down a bit. I found out they were fed in about 7 minutes or less, so I'm sure her first instinct is to cram whatever she can in to her mouth. She's also a great sleeper as well.

We are still working on getting her to walk unassisted by herself. She's a great cruiser, but she seems hesitant to take some steps on her own. Her vocabulary is exploding and she understands ALOT. She's getting comfortable with her brother and sister and her extended family. Attachment is going well tool. If anyone has any thoughts on how to get her to walk, let me know. Using food does not work as she's smart enough to get down and crawl over to it.

She has gone to several doctor appointments and her blood work came back fine. She also went to see a pediatric surgeon for her arm. He wants us to come back in three months. He said he thinks we should wait awhile before doing anything. The lymphangioma is not bothering her or impeding on any activities and he wants to wait before we do anything. We have one more pediatric surgeon to see. If we need surgery (most likely at some point) we will most likely be traveling outside the state as the specialists seem to not be residing where we live.

The above pictures were taken over the last month. I would have moved them, but I still can't do a copy and paste on this new lap top. Next post will be about Jack and Ella's Karate graduation. The pictures are on my dad's camera so I have to wait to get them from him. Our camera broke when Jack accidently dropped it.
