First Official Post

Ni Hao and "Hey Y'all" as we say here in the South. This is the first official post for my blog. I have to admit, it's a bit scary to actually have a place that I post my thoughts and the other daily wackiness that life brings along, as we wait for our referral from China.

I wanted to create a blog for a few reasons:

1. As a way to chronicle our thoughts and journey, for not only the daughter who is waiting for us in China, but also for our two toddler children (Jack and Ella) who really do not understand what is going on. Well, except for the fact that Jack does NOT want to give up his room, even temporarily, to his two sisters. That, he definitly understands. Ella also knows that China is someplace far away as she asks, "When are we going to China?" on a regular basis. I guess wee ones understand alot more than we give them credit for.

2. As a way to allow our friends and family in other parts of the country to see what is going on in our lives. Adoption is just one part. We have two toddlers who bring us joy and do some crazy things on a daily basis.

3. As an outlet for myself as I am the most IMPATIENT person in the world and the one thing International Adoption has taught me is that you must have A LOT of patience. As Jack tells me, "Mommy, you have to practice patience," and that is what I am trying to do.

So please, sit back, relax, grab a drink.....or two....we are in for a long ride.
